Whereas: The Second Amendment protects my right to keep and bear arms — not just for personal defense, but as a safeguard against tyranny; and
Whereas: House Bill 784 would ban the future sale and transfer of dozens of commonly owned rifles, shotguns, and handguns — including America’s most popular rifle, the AR-15, and even the Ruger 10/22; and
Whereas: This bill is a direct attack on law-abiding citizens and does nothing to stop violent crime or keep criminals off the streets; and
Whereas: If passed, this bill would criminalize the ownership, transfer, and inheritance of countless legal firearms — turning good people into felons overnight;
Therefore: As your constituent and a proud supporter of the Second Amendment, I urge you to publicly OPPOSE and VOTE NO on House Bill 784 — and on any other attempt to ban commonly owned firearms in North Carolina.
